FAQ
FAQ: The Menopause Biotype Test
If you’re considering the Menopause Biotype Test or the Andropause Biotype Test, you probably have questions, and we love that. Below you’ll find clear, honest answers about what to expect, how it works, and what makes it different.
What is the Menopause Biotype Test? What is the Andropause Biotype Test?
It is an at-home cheek-swab DNA test that identifies genetic patterns influencing how your body may experience menopause or andropause; including hormone metabolism, stress pathways, inflammation, sleep, cognition, and weight regulation.
Your results translate complex science into clear, actionable insights so you and your provider can make informed choices about your care, prevention, and wellness. The results tie into over 300 EMR's allowing your providers to layer other diagnostics such as blood panels, to make precise decisions.
Is this a diagnostic test?
No. RePhase is a wellness clarity tool, not a diagnostic medical test. It does not diagnose disease and does not replace clinical lab work. It helps you understand biological tendencies so you can make more informed decisions with your clinician.
How accurate is the test?
Your DNA sample is processed in a CLIA- and CAP-certified lab that follows the highest quality and compliance standards. (Accuracy standards pushing 99% which is higher than many DNA-tests on the market today readily used by consumers.) The genetic markers we use have established scientific research supporting their relevance to midlife health.
While it doesn’t diagnose or predict specific medical outcomes, it uses reliable, evidence-based models to identify patterns and probabilities within your DNA. Think of it as a highly personalized health map that helps guide your decisions, not a crystal ball.
What can the test tell me?
Your personalized report highlights:
- How your genetics may influence your response to hormonal change
- Which symptoms you’re more likely to experience and when
- Genetic markers related to bone, heart, and brain health
- How your body might respond to certain supplements or therapies
- Lifestyle recommendations that align with your biology
- Suggested HRT, supplements, nutritional, and other protocols specific to YOUR DNA and journey
- Drug-to-Drug Interaction Analysis: Mitigate risks with predictive genetic insights into potential adverse reactions.
It gives you a roadmap for understanding your body’s unique blueprint during menopause or andropause and beyond.
What do the results include?
You will receive:
-
Your personalized biotype
-
Insights into hormone metabolism and sensitivity
-
Symptom-related genetic tendencies
-
Long-term health factors
-
Actionable guidance for lifestyle and wellness
- Access to the BIOS platform that ties into your EMR and creates protocols unique to you
- Questions to bring to your clinician
How do I take the test?
It’s quick, easy, and done entirely at home. You’ll receive a DNA collection kit in the mail. Using the enclosed cheek swab, collect your sample and return it in the prepaid envelope. Once received, your sample is analyzed in a certified lab, and your personalized results are delivered digitally in about three to four weeks.
Do I need a doctor to interpret my results?
The report is written in clear, understandable language, so you can review it independently. The backend offers specific protocols culminated through PubMed and other published research and outcomes from academic institutions such as Harvard University, Wayne State University, University of Colorado Boulder, and Centre Hospitalier de l’Université de Montréal (CHUM) for cutting-edge genomic and health research. These collaborations fuel clinical trials and contribute to breakthroughs in personalized medicine and wellness. However, we strongly recommend sharing it with your healthcare provider or a menopause or andropause-trained clinician. Together, you can turn your results into a plan that aligns with your goals and medical history.
Can my doctor use these results?
Yes. Your report is designed to support clinical conversations around evaluation, HRT, non-hormonal interventions, and long-term wellness planning. If they use an existing EMR, they can gain access to the BIOS portal, and use the smart bot to ask clinical questions and narrow protocols based on numerous biomarkers and their notes.
Is my data private?
Yes. Your privacy is a top priority. All data is encrypted and stored securely in compliance with privacy laws. Your genetic information is never shared, sold, or used for research without your explicit consent. We encrypt all data, destroy your sample after processing, and never sell or share your DNA. You maintain full control over your information.
Who is this test for?
This test is designed for men and women in any stage of the menopausal journey — from early perimenopause through post-menopause. It’s ideal for anyone who wants to move from uncertainty to understanding, using personalized insights to make proactive health decisions.
Does this test replace hormone or lab testing?
No. The Menopause Biotype Test complements traditional hormone testing but does not replace it. It focuses on your genetic tendencies rather than moment-to-moment hormone levels. Used together, both tools provide a more complete picture of your hormonal health.
Hormone tests measure current levels, which change day to day. DNA provides stable, long-term insight into how your body is wired to process those hormones — giving essential context that labs alone cannot.
What happens after I get my results?
Your results become your foundation for personalized care. You can discuss them with your provider, explore tailored supplement or nutrition plans, and, in the future, connect directly with Rephase’s digital tools and coaching network for ongoing support.
How is this different from other DNA tests?
Most DNA tests provide general wellness insights. The Menopause Biotype Test focuses specifically on menopause and hormonal health, using advanced analysis that connects your genetic data to practical, real-world care. It’s precision medicine designed for a critical life phase that has too often been overlooked.
